Moving Day!!!

Well, tomorrow is our moving day! We finally get to have our own little apartment... Just me, Justin, and Dierks :) Unfortunately, our electricity got shut off a whole day early so it's gonna be one hot south Tx move!

I will certainly miss the house we shared with our 3 other roommates but I am also very excited about the future! You have to move on sometime...

I'll post pictures of our new place ASAP!

My poor Justin (my fiance) is really sick :( He doesn't feel good AT ALL [coughing, sinus problems, etc] &&& this week he has finals, work and we have to move.

No Job

Evidently... a bachelor's degree doesn't mean much in the "job" world. Either I am underqualified or overqualified which means I am NOT qualified for anything.

The smaller, lower end jobs say I am overqualified because I do have my college degree and the bigger, higher pay jobs so I am underqualified because I don't have any experience.

So I have come to the point now where last week I dressed up pretty and walked into about 12 local medical offices and asked if they have any open (front desk/clerical) positions. The overwhelming response: "No."

On the upside... I do have an appointment with a staffing recruiter from staffing agency. I really, really hope she can get me some work!

Annndddddd... I came up with the brilliant (lol) idea to email EVERY psychologist I can where I live and this is what I wrote:

"Hello,

I am a recent college graduate from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. I just graduated with my BA in Psychology and I am returning to TAMUCC for graduate school this fall. I am working towards my MS in Counseling to eventually getting my LPC.

I am currently searching for any job that can help me gain experience and I was wondering if you had any available positions? I would love any administrative, assistant, clerical, etc type work and I think it would really benefit me if I can work in a mental health setting.

Well, I had one respond saying that she'd like to meet with me to discuss some possible opportunities!!! But she's out of town right now so that will have to be next week sometime...

Our friend Landon did the filming and he is quite the character. He is the most random person you'll ever meet which is what makes this video so funny (at times). (He does most of the narrating/singing in the beginning)

I promise my voice isn't always that annoying... I guess when I'm surprised my voice likes to jump an octave or 2.

Taylor Swift singing George Strait's "Run"

I am in awe of Taylor Swift's performance at the George Strait tribute! She was AMAZING! She sang my favorite George Strait song ever called "Run."

Our wedding venue!!!

So the first venue I posted here before turned out to be already booked for June 5th. So we've been frantically searching for a new venue and having NO luck since June is THE WEDDING MONTH until now :)

This is just another proof that everything happens for a reason.

I got all of these photos and then my camera died before we could go inside... I apologize for the poor quality but I had to use my phone for the following photos:

The sanctuary (all natural lighting). There's a huge organ on the left.

The ceiling is very high... the chandalier shown is over 100 years old.
It's also hard to see but there are gold embellishments in the ceiling.

The church was built in 1909. Every window is made of stained glass. One of the windows has a signature that reads "In memory of my mother... 1812" I LOVE the history behind the church and I'm beyond excited to get married here! When I stood in the church I went speechless. It's absolutely breathtaking. I will try my best to get some better pictures inside next time I get to visit!

Kathy Kaehler - Fitness Expert

I was reading BRIDES magazine when I came across this short article and I thought I HAVE to share this with my blog friends :)

The article features 3 trainers and they explain 3 different ways to achieve losing 20lbs in 12 months. I'm not necessarily in the market for a whole 20lbs but what I read from Kathy was just so simply put and practical.

Exercise Tips:
Seize the Day - Concentrate on activities that are a part of your daily routine (like walking the dog) and do them for extended periods of time.

Flex Appeal - Hit the gym at least 3 times a week. Weight training is a must to build muscle. Use 5-to 10-pound weights and do at least 10 repetitions of curls, squats, and lunges.

Belly Buster - The plank - an exercise in which you prop yourself on your elbows to form a flat bridge, tighten your tummy, and hold the pose for at least a minute - is the best way to strenghthen your abs. Include 3 during each workout.

Diet Tips:
Prime Examples - Pack in protein (fish, skinless poultry, lean meats) at every meal - it helps you feel fuller longer by stabilizing your blood sugar.

Carbs Are Not the Enemy - Refined sugar and white flour are villains because they add no nutritional value to your food. Embrace healthy carbs (things made from whole grains), nuts, and fruit.

Also, I was watching "The Insider"... I never watch it so I can't really tell you what it's about but it seemed to be news/celebrity news. Anway, this [plus size] bridezilla was featured on there for forcing her bridesmaids to GAIN WEIGHT in order to be over 200lbs (each)! How insanely ridiculous is this?? Not to mention it's extremely unhealthy... There were clips of her yelling at her bridesmaids for not gaining enough or looking better than her.

Ok, honestly... I would NOT be a bridesmaid for this type of bridezilla. They are there by their own free will. Who in the hell would go through this for such a horrific bride?

We need to take engagement photos!

I stumbled upon this blog called (Wedding Cabaret) that has BEAUTIFUL engagement & wedding photos... and it got me thinking about how my fiance and I have been engaged since February and we need to get our engagement photos done! THEN I moved on to thinking about what style of photos we'd like and what should I wear... *sigh*

Ok so, I'm really leaning on little black dresses to be my bridesmaid dresses... It's classic, elegant, and you just can't go wrong with a LBD. Plus, every woman needs a LBD anyway :)

You always hear how brides want their bridesmaids to look bad to make the bride look better. Well I disagree. I want my bridesmaids to look stunning and beautiful! I want them to compliment me, the bride. I want them to FEEL beautiful too. That's very important to me.

Ok so I haven't really written a lot lately because I guess there's just not much going on! I've decided not to look for a full time job because I feel it's smarter for me to find a job where I can work only 2-3 shifts a week (day preferably) and focus on graduate school. If I had a full time job, I could only take 6-9 hours a semester and I am NOT interested in the 3-4 year grad school plan. lol I want to get it knocked out! Soooooo, I'm excited to say that I've got an interview today at a golf course :) I'm hoping to drive the "refreshment cart" around just a few days a week and I hear you make killer tips. Wish me luck!
