Things really do happen for a reason.

I am absolutely loving my new job. :) My supervisor is the sweetest person and she is such a joy to be around. When I was "let go" from my prior job I was certainly in a panic! I didn't know what I was going to do. I applied for so many jobs in just a 24 hour period and I was already trying to figure out how to apply for unemployment.

I decided to stop freaking out and let God handle it. I knew he knew what he was doing.

Monday I got a phone call about an interview the following Wednesday and I got the job! During the interview, they mentioned wanting to bring someone new on in a few weeks (which I didn't have a few weeks! I needed money NOW) and when I found out I got the job, they just so happened to want me to start on the following Monday! That extra week or two was such a blessing.

Anyway, my new job is only 20 minutes away while my old one was 45. The company is HUGE and my supervisor is already talking to me about ways she can train me in other areas then just my position so I can move up in the company. Also, it's full time plus some overtime! I've only worked there for 2 days and she already offered me some overtime this Saturday! (Hellooooo time and a half :D )

Basically, this job is such a blessing.

Just remember, you may think everything is falling apart and going wrong but God knows what he's doing. :)

Trying a new shade

My natural hair color is dark blonde. When I was younger, I had gorgeous bright blonde curly locks and as I got older, my hair darkened so I started to get highlights. As anyone who's ever maintained highlights knows... it's expensive and a little bit of a pain in the ass! lol

My roots grew out wayyyyyy too long (yes, I'm guilty) so I went to the store and bought a color called "light brown" as an attempt to match my roots. The color should've been named "crap-nasty burnt orange tinted brown" ...

I went to visit a friend who went to cosmetology school to see if she could help me achieve exactly what I was looking for... She took me to Sally's and we picked up a color called "Dark Neutral Blonde" and a 99cent packet of this powder called "UNRED" (the name is self explanatory) and she got to work.

This is the result:

I actually love it! It's a red/brown color and I've always wanted to play around with a red shade. This color was a total accident but thankfully - the hair gods were merciful on me! (I mean, I put "dark blonde" on "light brown" which could've been a total disaster for only being 1 week apart)

I can tell you right now that I will end up back blonde... it's just a matter of time. lol For right now, I'm going to enjoy this shade for as long as it lasts :)

I went to Marshalls and found these shoes by Nine West for $29 (clearance price!)

Wouldn't these make perfect wedding shoes? Or imagine them paired with jeans for a night on the town... Oh the possibilities!

I couldn't justify buying them today at the store but I just may have to go back for them... I'm still in love ♥

Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?

I started my new "grown-up" job 2 weeks ago. The first week and a half was SO hard because I at the same time, I was finishing up my last 2 weeks at my previous server job. Wednesday of last week was my last day as a server... ever. :)

2 days later... I was pulled into a separate room at my new job and told that that day was going to be my last day because they were "letting me go." 2 weeks into my new job - I was fired.

"Why?" ... you may ask?

because of my speech impediment.

Trust me, I know this is illegal.

A little about my impediment: It's a very minor stutter that most people don't even know I have. When I'm nervous, it tends to come out a bit more than usual. The people who know about it are my closest family and friends. (That's how minor it is) The people at my job noticed it because they put me on a few phone calls while standing right over me and of course I got nervous so it wasn't all that smooth!

Of course I freaked out when I got this news... and I was hurt. Really hurt actually. I was scared too! I'd just given up my old job 2 days before and now I'm sitting unemployed. That's when this scripture happened to jump out at me:

Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. - Matthew 8:26

So I applied for a gazillion jobs on Friday. I figured that's all I can do right now so the rest is in God's hands. I was fired on Friday and I found out on Monday that I've got an interview for another job on Wednesday.

This job is way closer to where I live, a much larger company with more room for advancement, and the job is much more suited to what I enjoy :)

When everything seems like pure chaos - just remember God knows what he's doing.

I am not sure of the price because she didn't mention it in the video but you can bet that I'll be making my way to Marshalls pretty soon (probably tonight lol) and I'll let you ladies know first thing :)

I can barely contain the excitement!! :D

I'm here! I'm here! I promise :)

I promise I'm still here! I just started my new job yesterday and currently, I'm still finishing out my 2 weeks as a server. I definitely have a new found respect for people with 2 jobs! Tuesday was a very long day:

Up at 6am - left the apartment at 7am - worked from 8am-3:30pm - rushed to make it home a little after 4pm - worked server job 4:30-9:30

Needless to say... I slept like a baby.

I'm really loving my new job. (I'll love it even more when I get my first paycheck!)

Just one more week then I'll be done being a server!

I'll try to post some interesting stuff later but unfortunately - I'm totally spent right now.
