I am determined to learn how to sew...
I know the basics on a sewing machine now... I've attempted a few articles of clothing with no luck. Today, that will change! (I hope) I'm about to embark on a new journey of making a skirt. I figure, start simple. I've got my fabric, I've got my thread, I've got a pattern (that I probably won't use because I hate patterns because they are way too confusing and I'd rather just do the math)... so here goes.

good luck on the skirt! i love to sew...but i HATE patterns i personally think using your own measurements and what not is easier. have fun with it! oh and dont forget to plenty of seem allowance! (i never add enough) :D

Wow! Your Jewlery is gorgeous. I particularly like the pearl and silver bracelet and violet one in the left side bar. Necklace photographed on the handwritten note is particularly stunning. Don't be discouraged. Eventually, the economy will get better. I've been through a few of these cycles in my 36 years. Besides, with all the other stuff you are doing right now, it seems like that is the least of your worries. (SMILE). As a seamstress, I am curious how your first sewing project came out. Please do tell!
If it goes well for you, then maybe there is hope for me! I'd convinced myself long ago that I was destined to suck at sewing...but something in me tells me to try again...but I'm too much of a coward!
